Lavish palaces, ornamental parks, cakes piled high with whipped cream and the strain of Strauss waltzes. Austria's capital, Vienna, is located on the banks of the Danube river, and is regularly voted one of the world's most liveable cities.
Since the dog breeder of our Papillon lived in Slovakia, we needed to meet somewhere nearby to pick up our new puppy! We had never been to Vienna, so we thought we would leave the kids with friends in Amsterdam for an extended weekend and have a little romantic get-a-away before picking up our new puppy at the airport and bringing her home.
